PLUMBAGOAll parts of the plants are poisonous. But maximum concentration of the active principal plumbagin is present in the roots.

Fatal dose, fatal period, signs and symptoms, treatment and postmortem findings are same as in cases of calotropis.

Medicolegal aspects – Suicidal poisoning is not usual. Homicidal poisoning is rare. Used as an abortifacient (roots being used locally). Used as cattle poison. Used to produce lesions to bring false charge on an enemy.
